New scholarships are added to this page often, so look for updates and be aware of the deadlines posted. Make sure you also inquire at your parents’ place of employment for available funds as well as the specific universities to which you are applying. Good luck!

Burger King Scholars Program:
$1,000 for students applying to college or vocational/technical schools. To qualify, a student must be a high school senior, maintain a 2.5 gpa, have a minimum of 10 work hours per week, be active in community service and demonstrate financial need. Elks Ca-Hawaii Vocational Grant Program:
A scholarship for students applying to a vocational school. Apply at: www.chea-elks.org

Elks Lodge #1812 Vocational Scholarship Grant:
A scholarship for students applying to a vocational school. Applications must be picked up at the local lodge on Washington. See Mrs. Reck in the Guidance Center for more information if needed.

KFC Colonel’s Scholars:
KFC Colonel’s Scholars: An opportunity for students with financial need to receive $5,000 per year for college. Applicants must have a 2.75 gpa and pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Apply at: www.kfcsholars.org

Violet Richardson Award:
An essay contest sponsored by the Soroptimist International of Alpine for young woman ages 14-17 who volunteer in their school or community. $100 is given to the winners along with another $100 for their favorite charity. See Mrs. Reck in the guidance center for an application.

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC):
is a non-profit association of women employed in the many aspects of the construction industry. The NAWIC offers scholarships to candidates who meet the following criteria: male or female pursuing a degree with a parent employed in the San Diego construction industry or a female pursuing a college degree in a construction related profession such as architecture, engineering or construction management. California Wine Grape Growers Foundation:

Kyoto Scholarship
Must have 3.0 gpa and be actively involved in their school or community along with extra-curricular activities or work experience. Please view www.kyotoprize.org for details and for an application.

Elks Ca-Hawaii State Disabled Student Award:
To apply for this scholarship a student must have a physical, neurological, visual, hearing or speech impairment. Apply: www.chea-elks.org

Elks Legacy Awards:

Point Loma Credit Union:
$2,500 offered to students based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, and an essay. If not a member, a $5 membership fee along with an initial opening deposit of $5 is required. Apply at: www.plcu.com

Fords Salute To Education Scholarship:

The National Security Agency (NSA):
offers the Stokes Educational Scholarship Program to high school seniors, particularly minority students planning on majoring in computer science or computer/electrical engineering. With the program, you attend college full time then work during the summer at NSA for 12 weeks in areas that are related to your course of study. If interested, apply at www.NSA.gov/Careers
